    Career:

    Barbara Angelopoulou joined Avramopoulos & Partners law firm in 2005.  While she focuses on corporate law, her practice involves providing legal advice to local and foreign companies on almost all aspects of Greek law, including drafting and reviewing all types of commercial agreements (such as leasing, supply, agency and distribution contracts, joint ventures, establishment and licensing of companies, compliance with regulations and legislation, participation in due diligence projects etc.). Barbara also handles complex litigation cases involving various labour, commercial and civil law matters. She is also active in the field of public tenders, assisting local and foreign companies in all stages of the respective procedures, including their representation before the competent Administrative Courts. Following the opening of the Greek telecommunication market to competition, she has been involved in the licensing procedure on behalf of local and foreign operators. She frequently deals with regulatory issues before the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (“EETT”).

    • Advising a prominent software, metrology and automation local company on a daily basis in relation to corporate, employment, commercial and public tender legislation.

    • Advising a number of local as well as multinational companies, being present in the Greek market, on various legal issues, including commercial transactions as well as regulatory and corporate housekeeping matters, including debt collection matters.

    • Legal advice to a leading US global payment services company on the implementation of an employment handbook in Greece.

    • Provision of legal and regulatory analysis on certain VOIP-related issues under the Greek law on behalf of a US provider of electronic communication services.

    • Provision of legal advice to an Irish provider of electronic communication services regarding its licensing in Greece.

    • Provision of legal advice to a Greek provider of electronic communication services regarding the terms of use of its services.

    • Legal advice to a prominent US market research company regarding implementation of its global bonus scheme in Greece.

    • Provision of legal services to a US provider of electronic communication services  in  relation  to  its  participation  in  an international public tender regarding the development  of Wi-MAX technology, issued  by  the  Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (“EETT”).

    • Participation in various due diligence projects.

    • Collaboration with a UK law firm regarding compliance of a Greek hotel in Corfu with EU hygiene standards.

    • Advising a Greek company on its licensing for the operation of two wind parks in the Peloponnese.

    • Legal advice and court representation of a major Hungarian TV channel in a debt collection dispute against the Greek National Tourism Organization.
